Bronchitis in pregnancy

Bronchitis is one of the most frequent respiratory diseases. There are acute and chronic forms of bronchitis. In acute bronchitis, inflammation of the bronchial mucosa leads to an expansion of their vessels and filling with blood. Acute bronchitis is often a consequence of acute respiratory infections. The chronic form leads to a change in the entire structure of the bronchi, sometimes involving changes in the lungs.

Bronchitis can cause serious harm during pregnancy, but only if treatment is delayed. In addition, the main danger of bronchitis lies in the danger of its complications. After all, ordinary bronchitis can pass into pneumonia, or even into bronchial asthma.

The main manifestation of bronchitis is a cough . Bronchitis cough usually lasts 10-14 days, while cold cough, as a rule, is shorter and lasts 3-4 days.

High fever can be both with colds and with bronchitis, but with bronchitis it lasts long enough sometimes more than a week. This is due to the fact that the infection penetrates into the deep sections bronchi and lungs.

When bronchitis cough acquires other forms it can manifest at night, and significantly hinder breathing. Difficulty in breathing indicates another type of bronchitis obstructive bronchitis. Bronchoconstriction occurs due to the large amount of accumulated mucus in the bronchi that does not get an outlet, while creating spasms in the bronchi and leading to a disruption of the respiratory function.

If we take into account the fact that pregnant women are more often diagnosed as bronchitis than others, the main reason for this is the most interesting situation. Bacteria are easier to get into the body of a pregnant woman, because the immunity decreases during pregnancy. And if access to many bacteria was simply closed before pregnancy, now everything is simplified for them.

In the beginning of the disease, a pregnant woman can feel cold, because all the initial factors indicate exactly this aches in muscles, lethargy, cough, a slight increase in temperature. But in the days that follow, these symptoms are replaced by others, and the cough becomes tearing and with mucus. All this should be a signal to urgently need medical help.
